Kindness Quilt

Happy Monday!

We hope everyone is bright eyed even with the clocks springing ahead one hour! We have another exciting week ending with two assemblies on Friday.

Students worked collaboratively on a Kindness Quilt which is on display in our school, great job everyone, spread kindness like confetti!

It is the Week of Inspirational Math, and we will be having a school-wide contest for students to solve math problems and enter a draw in the office.

Also, keep an eye out for those pesky leprechauns, they might be hiding their gold at Glen Allan early!

It's a great week for a great week!

Early learning lays the foundation for success in primary grades and beyond. As such, EIPS offers the pre-kindergarten PALS program in five of its elementary school locations—including . Applications are now open for free speech-language assessments for those interested in registering in the PALS program this fall. The assessment helps determine if PALS is appropriate for your child.

Regulation Strategy - Fist Pumping

Here at Glen Allan we are aimed at enhancing capacity to nurture emotional resilience and well-being among students. We are actively involved in collaborating with our staff to introduce effective regulation strategies and deepen understandings of brain development. We continue to work on integrating these strategies into everyday classroom practices. This weeks strategy is Fist Pumping.

Stretch arms out to each side (shoulder height) and elbows straight. Alternate opening and closing your fists with an energizing breath. Continue for 30 seconds. Flip your hands over and open and close the fists again for another 30 seconds.

During this exercise, the fingers act like a remote control for the brain, waking it up with this repetition. This strengthens the nervous system.
